Summit Stair Lifts - The Summit Stairlift uses a cable system to lift the chair. Because a cable system requires a straight track, this model is only suitable for straight stairs. The system is run on standard 110 VAC house current from a standard grounded outlet (no special wiring required if an outlet is nearby), or a battery powered option is available. Installation of the track is not difficult. Ask your dealer about installation costs and policies.
Summit stair lifts mount on either side of the stairs requiring only 10 inches for the track which bolts to the stairs and not the walls, can travel up to 20 feet, and has smooth starts and stops. Foot or finger operated call controls are located at the top and bottom. The unit has a 300 pound capacity, although models are available for heavier weight.
Among the safety features are an aircraft cable system rated at 4,200 pounds, a safety switch that will not allow the unit to operate unless the swivel seat is in the proper position, footrest safety sensors stop the lift if it encounters an obstacle on the stairs, and constant pressure controls stop the lift if you release the control.
Outdoor Summit Stair Lifts - Summit also has an option for an outdoor model with all the quality and safety standards of the indoor model, but with the addition of a weather-tight component cover, weather-tight seat and unit cover, weather-tight header cover, and an anodized aluminum track to protect against corrosion.
Summit Pinnacle Stair Lift - The Pinnacle is latest model of the Summit stairlift. Its capacity is 350 pounds, and it can travel up to 75 feet. The Pinnacle is battery operated (rechargeable) and has a patented worm drive system that allows you to get around 40 trips before recharging the battery in the event of a power outage. This model also features wireless remote call and send controls. The Pinnacle folds to within 11 inches of the wall, only requires a 6.5 inch wide track, and is designed to require little if any maintenance.
Summit Stair Lift Max - This stair lift has a 500 pound capacity and an extra wide seat. It operates on standard 110 VAC house current. Travel distance is up to 20 feet, and the track is of the same design as the other Summit stair lifts. It also has the same fine safety features as other Summit lifts.
